UFT Calls for a Moratorium on High-Stakes Consequences
October 30, 2013
The United Federation of Teachers explains:
We aren’t saying to stop testing. We’re saying it isn’t fair to make high-stakes decisions about students, teachers or schools based on the test results until the horribly mismanaged transition to the new learning standards at city schools has been fixed.
Why we need a moratorium:
Our students and members should not be harmed by the botched implementation of the Common Core. That is what our call for a moratorium on high-stakes consequences is all about.
