NYC City Council will vote to curtail extensive standardized testing
December 7, 2013

On Tuesday, Dec.10th, NYC City Council will vote to curtail extensive standardized testing. Resolution 1394 calls upon the New York State Education Department, the New York State Legislature, and the Governor to re-examine public school accountability systems and to develop a system based on multiple forms of assessment which do not require extensive standardized testing. Council Members expect the resolution to pass and will hold a press conference on the Steps of City Hall.

When Resolution 1394 passes, it will be the first time that this resolution will passed by a legislative body. It has been passed by many School Boards and Community Organizations across the country, but never by legislators.

Please thank your City Council Member for their support.
